The OCEP Clinic on May 17, 2025 was staffed by Dr. Tiffany Romero, Medical Optometrist at the Visionary Eye Institute. This was her first time at the clinic.
Dr. Romero evaluated all the patients that were scheduled for her, taking time to explain to the patients about their condition, as well as what they need to do in terms of management. We appreciate Dr. Romero’s help and support, and look forward to seeing her again in the clinic soon!
With Nikki as the Coordinator and Betty as the Exit Counselor, and with many volunteers helping with intake/history, vision and eye pressure check, OCTs, scribing, etc., the clinic was smoothly run and managed to stay on time.
Education and teaching is an important objective in the OCEP program.
“In learning, you will teach, and in teaching you will learn.”
Our Providers and Senior Volunteers are considerate of those shadowing them, and attempt to provide feedback about what they see when they examine the eye, and to take time to teach those who shadow them.
We thank Dr. Romero and all the volunteers who found the time to come to the clinic and to serve and help.
