OCEP Free Eye Surgeries on May 30, 2025

Continuing with our endeavor to provide free eye surgeries to those who are uninsured and/or cannot afford these surgeries, we had 8 patients undergo eye surgeries in the afternoon. Surgeries were performed by Dr. Faris Ghosheh at his center, Advanced Eye Medical Group, in Mission Viejo.

Dr. Ghosheh performed 7 cataract and one pterygium surgeries.

These patients were prepped from the OCEP clinic, including getting their medical clearances from their respective referral clinics, as well as providing the patients with free eye medications to be used by them starting one day before the surgery and to be used for a specified time.

Patients have to be instructed to be ready for surgery and to make sure they know the address/location of the surgery center they need to come, as well as the time they need to arrive.

We need support to continue to provide these free eye surgeries to underserved patients.

You may ask – why do we need support if the surgeries are being performed for free?

Good question! Our volunteer doctors are performing the surgeries for free, but we need to pay the staff, the anesthesiologist and for any disposable items that are not supported by our industry partners.

We encourage you to support free eye surgeries, be it one, five, ten or more. You can donate online and mention “OCEP Free Eye Surgery”; call the clinic at (714) 494-4085; or write to info (AT) retinaglobal (DOT) org. We appreciate your support and help.
